solar water heater
This solar water heater was the first part of our passive solar home design. From this water heater my group learned properties about retaining, absorbing and reflecting heat from the sun.
This design is of the flow of water through copper wires from an insulated bottle to the other end into a cup and back into the bottle. We used the copper tubing because its takes in the heat from the sun and warming up the water. Another way we heated the water is spray painting everything that faced the sun black.

conclusion
This has been a very long, fun, and very challenging project. There were so many concepts, techniques and things I learned. Something I learned was how to heat up a house without electricity, but with the warmth from the sun. Another thing I learned everything that goes into building a house like the placement of studs, floor structure, drywall and a lot about roofs.
My group and I were overall successful, even though we could have done some things better. Our time management was not the best during the beginning and then increased to being very efficient. One thing I think we did well was working hard when we were given time on a certain part of the project, specifically our blueprints and sketch-up model.
